Live shopping

Live shopping is a scheduled show in the app. Shoppers watch, chat and tap pinned products.

Status: off by default. Needs setup. Plan: Enterprise only. Live video needs your own Mux or Cloudflare Stream account. You pay that vendor for video. Without one, a show needs a playback link that you enter yourself.

What works now#

Create and schedule a show.
Shoppers get a reminder before the show starts. The reminder is a push message.
Shoppers watch a playback link you set.
Pin products to the show at set times. Shoppers can tap Add to cart or View.
Chat in the show. Shoppers can report a message or mute another shopper.
Admin moderation: hide a chat message, or block a device from one show or the whole app.

What does not work yet#

No replay. Ended shows show an ended screen only.
No viewer count.
No broadcasting from the phone. The host streams with a separate tool, using the address and key the app shows you.
Amazon IVS cannot create streams here. Use a playback link you enter yourself.
Not tested against a live Mux or Cloudflare account yet. Do a full test show before you announce one.

Video providers#

With a Mux or Cloudflare Stream account connected, the app can create the stream for a show and show you the streaming address and key. Open Live shopping, add your vendor keys, then create the stream from the show. The keys are kept encrypted and never shown again. The stream key is not stored by the app. It is fetched from the vendor when an authorised team member asks for it.

You also set up the vendor's webhook in the vendor's own console. The provider card shows the address to use. The app then knows when the stream is live. When a show ends or is cancelled, the app switches the vendor stream off.

For Amazon IVS, or any other player, enter a playback link yourself. Test the link before a show.

Chat rules#

Chat messages are limited in length.
Links and phone numbers can be blocked. You can change this setting.
Words on the banned list are blocked. The list has defaults and you can add more.
A message with three reports is hidden automatically.
Chat refreshes every few seconds while the show is live.

Settings#

Open Live shopping and then Settings to set:

the video provider (Mux or Cloudflare Stream) and its keys
how long before a show the reminder goes out
chat limits and the banned word list

Use the live shopping switch to turn the feature on for shoppers. Writes need the campaign edit permission. See Team and roles.
